This year IHM will be using the on-line site

Brain Pop

for our summer math practice.

Entering Fifth Grade students should work on the following skills:

Numbers & Operations

Multiplication

Division

Adding & Subtracting Fractions

Reducing Fractions

Rounding

Commutative Property

Geometry

Polygons

Probability

Basic Probability

 

Take all 8 quizzes, one for each topic listed above. Print them out, and bring them to school when we return in August.

 

In addition to completing the quizzes for the above topics, students also must complete a two-page worksheet.

Language Arts

 

Students entering Fifth Grade for the fall of 2011 will use
Accelerated Reader
to complete their summer reading enrichment.  The goal is to provide our students with the opportunity to practice and improve their core reading skills using the most innovative tools available.

After each book is read, students will need to come to the IHM Computer Lab to take the online quiz.  This will take about 10 to 20 minutes
