This course takes an integrated approach to Language Arts. The goals for the year are as follows:
· Improving written and spoken communication
· Developing the ability to critically analyze literature
· Building vocabulary
· Reading fluently
· Conducting research
· Reinforcing grammar skills
Assessments will be based on the following:
· Writing assignments including a research paper
· Vocabulary tests
· Literature tests
· Grammar tests
· Oral presentations
· Small group projects/discussions
· Accelerated Reader
Students must be prepared for class with:
· Complete and accurate homework
· Appropriate books and supplies
