Dear Parents or Guardians,
Today your child received his/her first weekly journal assignment. Please help your child to follow these guidelines for each writing assignment:
1. Answer each prompt with at least 5 complete and detailed sentences.(No baby sentences)
2. Make sure your sentences answer the prompt correctly.
3. Proofread sentences for capitalization and punctuation.
4. You may write in manuscript or cursive, but neatness will count.
5. Do your best with spelling even though you will not lose points for spelling mistakes.
6. The assignment will be worth 10 points .
7. Some prompts may ask you to draw something. Make sure your drawing is neat, clear and answers the prompt.
We have found the journal to be an excellent way to improve your child’s writing and we look forward to reading their entries.
